Shaping, Trimming and Nurturing Plants for Healthy Growth

Enhance the aesthetic appeal of your garden with the art of shaping, trimming and nurturing plants for healthy growth.

Pruning is the difference between a garden that is merely planted and one that is kept. Cutting well removes dead and diseased wood before it spreads, opens the canopy so light and air reach the inner branches, and directs a plant's energy into the growth you actually want. Cutting badly — at the wrong season, or at the wrong point on the stem — costs a season of flowering and can leave a permanent wound.

Different plants ask for different treatment and different timing: hedges and topiary need regular light shaping to hold a line, flowering shrubs are cut in relation to when they set their buds, and trees need structural work done sparingly and early. Our team prunes to the plant rather than to the calendar.

What Pruning Plants covers

  • Hedge trimming and topiary shaping
  • Formative and maintenance pruning of shrubs and trees
  • Removal of dead, damaged and crossing growth
  • Deadheading and cutting back to encourage flowering
  • Timing matched to each species rather than a fixed schedule

How a project runs

Every Indogardening project moves through the same four stages before work begins on site:

  1. Needs estimation — budget, land use, labour, tools and equipment are examined alongside soil quality, drainage and lighting requirements.
  2. Site inspection — a thorough examination of the location, identifying existing structures, walls, fences and adjacent features that the design has to work with.
  3. Site evaluation — the data gathered in the first two stages is analysed to inform the plan.
  4. Site plan — the plot blueprint is refined and optimised into the final site plan.

Gardening work is quoted per site — the design, the materials and the planting all depend on the space, the soil and how you want to use it. Contact Indochem Agrovet with your location and what you have in mind, and our gardening team will visit and advise.
