Food Relief Distribution
We brought relief packets of essential food, including potatoes, bread, biscuits and other daily staples, to the villages by truck. Our volunteers handed them out to families waiting in orderly, distanced queues.

Corporate Social ResponsibilityOur work starts with the soil, but it does not end there. When the farming families we serve faced a pandemic and a cyclone at the same time, the Indochem Agrovet team went to them with food, medicines and care.
Indochem Agrovet exists to support Indian farmers with safe, organic and eco-friendly agricultural inputs. We believe a responsible company must also stand by the people behind every harvest: the farmers, farm workers and rural families whose wellbeing makes sustainable agriculture possible.
Our CSR work focuses on the needs of rural communities in times of hardship. That means relief during natural disasters and health emergencies, access to basic healthcare, and help for village families to get back on their feet.
A healthy farm needs a healthy farmer. Caring for the community is part of caring for the land.

In May 2020, while India was under COVID-19 lockdown, Cyclone Amphan struck the Sundarbans region of West Bengal. It flattened homes, uprooted trees and flooded farmland with saline water. For thousands of farming and fishing families in South 24 Parganas, the lockdown had already cut off work and income. Now the storm left them short of food and medical care as well.
In June 2020, the Indochem Agrovet team took relief directly to villages in Hingalganj block, South 24 Parganas, including the Jogeshganj Gram Panchayat area, one of the worst-affected parts of the Sundarbans. Our volunteers worked on the ground on 7 and 11 June 2020, following COVID-19 safety measures throughout: masks, gloves and orderly, distanced queues.

With clinics hard to reach after the cyclone, we set up health camps in the villages. Our team, wearing masks and gloves, attended to villagers and gave out medicines and basic healthcare supplies free of cost.

We worked alongside local volunteers and the community to keep every distribution organised and safe. Women, children and elderly villagers were reached without crowding, as the pandemic required.
